The residents held placards with inscription such as ‘Enough is Enough’; ‘Stop Anti-Masses Policies’; ‘We Are Not Slaves In Our Country’; ‘Hardship Is Unbearable’, and ‘Fuel Subsidy Must Be Back’, among others.
Governor Mohammed Bago had previously surprised residents with welfare packages in an attempt to prevent the protest.
