Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has tipped Crystal Palace to win the FA Cup after they qualified for the finals. Crystal Palace will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final in May at the Wembley Stadium after beating Aston Villa 3-0.
Their opponent in the FA Cup final, Man City, defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the semi-final encounter on Sunday.
Speaking on BBC One, Rooney said: “I think Palace were by far the better team [against Aston Villa] but the atmosphere in the air is incredible.
“They fully deserve to go to the final. Hopefully they can go on and win it.
“The FA Cup final is a massive thing. It is massive for everyone. It is a great occasion and the Palace fans have had a great day out and they get to do it again.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are the current holders of the FA Cup.
The Red Devils defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the final last year.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scored the goals for United, while Jeremy Doku scored City’s only goal.
