A former councilor in Benue State, Hon. Paul Mbatsaver Azahaan, has been k!lled by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The late Mbatsaver represented Nzorov Council Ward in Guma Local Government Area.
According to Daily Post, it was gathered that he was attacked at his residence in Tse Azahaan, Mbagen, on the night of Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Sources said the assailants stormed his home during the late hours and shot him, leaving him de@d.
The k!lling has plunged the community into mourning and intensified fears over the growing insecurity in rural parts of Benue State.
Residents described Mbatsaver as a well-known grassroots politician and called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
