Shake-up in police as IGP approves new postings for senior officers

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) to key departments and formations within the Nigeria Police Force.

According to a statement from the Force, the strategic postings are aimed at optimizing their expertise, enhancing operational efficiency, and strengthening security operations across the country.

DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar has been posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo was deployed to the Force Intelligence Department (FID), while DIG Williams Adebowale will be in charge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department.

Others are DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi deployed to Department of Operations (DOPs), DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat posted to Logistics and Supply (DLS), DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma deployed to Research and Planning (R&P) and DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya reassigned to Finance and Administration (DFA).

IGP Egbetokun hexpressed confidence in the leadership capabilities of the senior officers, stating that their appointments will further enhance the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force in tackling evolving security challenges.
