Food prices crashing because we dealt with insecurity

Food prices are currently dropping because the Federal Government of Nigeria has dealt a heavy blow on insurgents operating in various states across the country, the presidency has said.

Daniel Bwala, the special adviser to the president on policy communication said the drop in food prices can be attributed to the efforts made by the government and relevant agencies against insecurity in Nigeria.

In a post made on X, Bwala claimed that farmers now feel secure and have becone “enthusiastic” about returning to their farms.

He said, “The reason the food prices are crashing is because we have dealt a heavy blow to insecurity, hence farmers enthusiastically go to farm and do what they do best.

“Presdient Tinubu @officialABAT means business,” Bwala said.

He further urged citizens to ignore individuals and groups bent on peddling fake news about the actual reason for the drop in food prices.

He said, “Ignore the sore losers who are peddling fake news that importation is the reason for crashing of the prices and that President Tinubu is destroying the economy of the north.

“Such individuals are probably not happy that we are dealing with insecurity,” Bwala wrote.
