In his recent criticism of Obi, Omokri accused the former Anambra State Governor of supporting a man accused of “fraud and other acts of high corruption by members of the Labour Party and the Nigerian Labour Congress.”
He suggested that Obi’s approval of Abure indicates that he may not be the right person to lead Nigeria’s cleanup efforts. In a Facebook post, the PDP Chieftain claimed that Obi did not build any schools during his tenure as governor of Anambra, unlike Tinubu, Atiku, and Kwankwaso.
An excerpt from his statement reads, “Tinubu, Atiku, and Kwankwaso have First Class or distinction. Obi has a Second Class Lower. Tinubu, Atiku, and Kwankwaso were not implicated in the Pandora Papers, unlike Obi.”
Omokri and Obi have had a strained relationship since the latter joined the Labour Party in preparation for the 2023 presidential elections.
Yesterday, Obi called on disgruntled party members to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians and the country above personal interests. He made this statement during a solidarity visit to the party’s national headquarters.
Obi expressed his commitment to uniting all members of the party and addressing challenges related to human capital development, such as food security, education, health, and water.
