Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo Look to Close Gap in Saudi Pro League Title Race

Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo are looking to make up ground in the Saudi Pro League title race as they face off against Damac in a home game on October 21st. In their previous match, Al Nassr squandered a 2-0 lead to draw with Abha, with Ronaldo misfiring on multiple occasions. However, during the international break, Ronaldo scored four goals in two Euro qualifying matches against Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Al Nassr will hope that form continues as league play resumes....For More CONTINUE THE FULL READING▶▶

Currently, Al Nassr sits seven points behind league leaders Al Hilal with a game in hand. This match against Damac provides an opportunity for them to close the gap, especially considering Al Hilal’s recent setback with the news of Neymar‘s long-term injury. Damac, on the other hand, is currently 10th in the standings with 10 points from their first nine matches. Despite enjoying a four-match unbeaten run, including an impressive 1-1 draw against Al Hilal, they will face a tough challenge in stopping an in-form Ronaldo and Al Nassr.

The Sporting News will be providing live coverage of the Al Nassr vs. Damac match, including score updates, commentary, and highlights. The lineups for both teams have been announced, with Al Nassr lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and Damac in a 4-2-3-1 formation as well.

The first half of the match sees Damac taking the lead with a goal from Georges-Kevin N’Koudou. Ronaldo has had a few half-chances, but Al Nassr has been second-best so far. Damac’s transitional play has exposed Al Nassr’s back line, and they have been unable to contain the visitors’ counter-attacks.

In the 45th minute, Damac extends their lead with another goal from N’Koudou during a vicious counter-attack. There is a VAR review to check for a possible penalty on Ronaldo just before the goal, but it is eventually given. Al Nassr has their chances as well, with Ronaldo, Mane, and Talisca creating opportunities, but Damac’s defense has held firm.

As the match progresses, both teams have their chances but fail to convert. Al Nassr’s Laporte misses a header from an Al Nassr corner, while Damac’s Cisse also misses a clear chance on goal. Ronaldo’s shot is blocked by Damac’s defenders, and Al Nassr struggles to break down a resilient Damac defense.

Throughout the match, Al Nassr holds possession, while Damac looks to counter with their quick transitional play. Al Nassr’s right-back, Sultan Al Ghanam, is suspended for the match, and Nawaf Al-Boushal steps in to fill the void. Al Nassr’s new goalkeeper signing, Raghed Al-Najjar, also gets his first start of the season in place of Nawaf Al-Aqidi

As the game comes to a close, Damac holds on to their lead, securing the victory over Al Nassr. The win propels Damac further up the standings, while Al Nassr remains in fifth place, seven points behind Al Hilal.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s individual performance could not save Al Nassr from defeat, despite his previous goal-scoring exploits during the international break. Al Nassr will need to regroup and bounce back in their next match to stay in the title race.

Overall, Damac’s solid defensive display and effective counter-attacking play proved to be the difference in this match. Al Nassr will need to address their defensive vulnerabilities and improve their attacking efficiency to have a chance at catching up to the league leaders……CONTINUE.FULL.READING>>>
