Anioma State Will Be Created with Asaba as Capital – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reaffirmed legislative backing for the creation of Anioma state, stating that Asaba will serve as its capital while Warri becomes the capital of the new Delta state. Speaking at the APC south-south zonal congress in Asaba, Akpabio said the initiative, championed by Senator Ned Nwoko, has continued to receive legislative attention and ranks among the priorities of the 10th Senate. He described the agitation as historically justified, rooted in equity, administrative efficiency, and balanced development.
