The incident saw JetBlue Flight 170 suffer a five hour delay following the violent incident on Thursday night.

The man, who has been identified publicly, threatened passengers around him while telling them he was the devil.

He then went onto physically assault a woman that was traveling with him.

In a statement JetBlue explained the flight as being ‘diverted to Orlando due to a disturbance between two customers on board.’

The flight was already well underway having departed Fort Lauderdale, bound for Boston

‘Two customers were deplaned with the assistance of law enforcement, and the flight continued to Boston with a delay,’ the statement continued.

Flight attendants were forced to place the woman in the aircraft’s bathroom for her own safety, reports WCVB.

Even then – the man continued to punch the door in an attempt to get her out.

One passenger filmed video of the crazed customer being escorted from the plane by police officers following the unscheduled landing in Orlando.

The man could be seen wearing a hoodie and baseball cap as he was marched off by officers.

The pilot, who had not initially told passengers about the change to their travel plans could then be heard explaining to fellow passengers what was happening.

‘We had a disruptive, violent passenger in the back,’ the pilot said. ‘Unfortunately, I could not make an announcement, tip him off. We didn’t want to agitate him more than he already was, he was attacking another passenger.’

The flight was delayed because the remaining passengers were forced to disembark in Orlando with the plane requiring refueling and a new crew before being allowed to take off again.

Police in Orlando later explained that the unruly passenger who caused the disturbance was not arrested.

‘The individual was intoxicated and transported to local hospital by Orlando Fire Department for treatment,’ a spokesperson said.

JetBlue have said they will not be compensating passengers for the delay or the disturbance they encountered.

‘This disruption is considered an uncontrollable disruption; meaning it’s due to events outside of JetBlue’s control (things like Air Traffic Control or weather disruptions) and, unfortunately, does not qualify for customer compensation or reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses,’ one email to a customer read.
