The newly appointed Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda has resigned her position.
Meranda resigned as the speaker of the Lagos Assembly on Monday, March 3, during the plenary at the chambers.

Her resignation comes barely hours after she had a meeting with the impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, stakeholders of the ruling All Prigressives Congress and the Attorney General of Lagos State.
Speaking while presiding over the plenary, Meranda said she was making a selfless service to preserve the institution.
