BREAKING: Thugs Use Stones, Dangerous Objects To Attack NLC Members Enforcing Strike

The NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) initiated a nationwide shutdown of the economy on Monday due to the federal government’s refusal to accept the proposed N494,000 Minimum Wage.

During the strike enforcement in Jos, individuals associated with a private transport company reportedly assaulted NLC members, resulting in several injuries and hospitalizations.

In his statement to reporters, the Vice Chairman of NLC in Plateau, Sunday Ayodele, elaborated: “Immediately the touts at the park saw us arriving at the gate, they started hurling stones at us, mistaking us for members of the NURTW. Unknown to us, there is an ongoing dispute between the private transport company and NURTW Jos. The touts in the park indiscriminately attacked our members, leaving four NLC members injured.
