Check Out The Place In The World Where It Is Forbidden To Die

Death is an unavoidable fact. It is a phenomenon from which no one on the world will recover. Every day, people die and are either buried or cremated. However, there is a town on the earth where death is prohibited. Longyearbyen is a town in the Norwegian province of Nordland. This town is situated on an island that is dark for four months during the winter. It’s difficult to say the difference between morning and night in the winter.

Since 1950, it has been illegal to die in this town. The residents of the town passed this law after discovering that the bodies of people who had been buried long ago in the town’s cemetery were not decomposing due to the cold weather. This was so extreme that scientists were still able to get samples of the virus as they exhumed the bodies of people who died in 1918 as a result of the flu pandemic. This made them fearful, because the disease that nearly wiped out the majority of the Earth’s population could still spread if nothing was done about the bodies.

As a result, they made it so that only the remains of people who had been incremated could be buried in the town’s cemetery. Those who were terminally ill or nearing the end of their lives were advised to leave the island for the mainland.
