EPL: Cole Palmer to take Chelsea’s no 10 jersey, Delap given ‘cursed’ shirt number

Chelsea have announced new shirt numbers for Cole Palmer and new signing, Liam Delap.

From next season, Palmer will wear the no.10 shirt.

The England international has worn the no. 20 shirt since he arrived from Manchester City in the summer of 2023.

Delap has taken the No.9 jersey at Chelsea, with that shirt supposedly cursed by the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Fernando Torres.

The 22-year-old has completed a £30million move to Chelsea after the release clause at Ipswich was triggered.

He has been offered an immediate return to the Premier League after suffering relegation in 2024-25.

In a statement, Chelsea said: “Supporters are reminded that the full list of squad numbers for the 2025/26 season will be finalised once the summer transfer window has shut.”
