Pochettino stated this while speaking to the media on Friday, ahead of their trip to Sheffield United this Sunday.
The former PSG and Tottenham boss has enjoyed a rough relationship with the Blues’ supporters, as the team continued to falter on the pitch.
On Thursday, Chelsea came from behind to defeat Manchester United 4-3 at home, with Cole Palmer snatching the win with a late deflected effort.
The goal saw joyous scenes at Stamford Bridge, with fans, coaching staff and players embracing each other.
Pochettino said: “For the first time, I started to feel a connection with the fans.
“This project is different to the last 20 years.
“I always said that I wanted to build a genuine relationship, not kiss the badge or do stupid things on the touchline to please the fans.”
