Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State disclosed that his administration inherited a substantial debt load upon assuming office from Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on May 29, 2023.

Speaking at the inauguration of the reconstructed 10.89KM Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo Road in Eleme Local Government Area, Fubara expressed that many contractors, who worked on projects during Wike’s tenure, are now seeking funds for completion from his administration.

Regarding the choice of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, to inaugurate the project, Fubara praised Otti’s commitment to impactful governance and clarified his administration’s stance on cooperation with the Federal Government.
