Governor Sanwo-Olu arrives at Independence Bridge to assess repairs [VIDEO]

Following the ordeal experienced by Lagos residence on the Independence Bridge on Wednesday, April 2, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has visited the area.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, in a post on X said Sanwo-Olu was at the location to assess the ongoing repairs on the bridge and Bonny Camp Road.

According to Gawat, Sanwo-Olu arrived at the bridge at 9.59 am on Thursday, April 3, in the company of some Lagos State government officials.

He wrote in a video post on X, “FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu arrives at the Independence Bridge, Bonny Camp road repairs this morning to see the work being done by the Federal Ministry of Works.

“Mr Governor arrived here 9:59 am in company of State Government Officials,” Gawat said.

In another post, the governor’s aide said Sanwo-Olu has apologised to Lagos State residents over the severe traffic situation experienced on the road.

He said, “Mr Governor says the decision to fix the bridge by Messrs Buildwell construction has been on for over 3 years and it was to prevent a disaster waiting to happen.
