It was reported that the incident took place when the victim was lured to a bush at Moniya in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, where he was allegedly killed and beheaded, under the pretext of being awarded a job.

Consequently, the police launched an investigation and then, arrested the three suspects at Apete in the Ido Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.
Many residents living in the area, have expressed shock over the incident.
According to sources, the surveyor was popular among residents for selling and buying lands in the area.
An anonymous resident said, “It was so pathetic. One of the alleged murderers was a popular cleric known for his distinct turban among the Islamic community of Alapata.”
CSP Akande Rufus Adegoke, confirmed the incident, he said the alleged assailants were landlords in his jurisdiction, but the heinous act was said to have been done in Moniya.
