How 8 Person Got Killed As Bomb Explodes In Borno

At least eight persons have reportedly died after a bomb explosion rocked the Damboa-Maiduguri road in Borno State.

Sources said the explosion occurred after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) allegedly planted by some Boko Haram terrorists detonated on Saturday, April 12.

It was gathered that the explosion left several other people injured from the incident. Sources said those injured have been taken to a medical facility in the city for treatment.

A resident and Facebook user, Ibn Maigana who wrote about the incident said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raju’un. The road to my hometown, Damboa Local Government Area in Borno, has been dangerous and one of the riskiest roads in the country for years now.

He said, “We’ve lost exceptional military staff and residents to the criminal elements called Boko Haram.”

Continuing, Maigana said, “And today, they planted explosives that claimed the lives of eight innocent individuals on the Maiduguri-Damboa road.”

He added that the recent incident justifies the calls for improved security systems in the state.

In addition, an X user, @OffucialAzzaki, wrote, “A bomb blast has just occurred along Damboa road to Maiduguri. Sadly, 8 lives were lost, and several others have been taken to the hospital with injuries. Please pray for the victims.”
