I Know my Heritage – 22-year-old Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper, Ejeheri Chooses Nigeria Over England, Uganda

Ovie Ejeheri, a former Arsenal goalkeeper, has chosen to pledge his international future to Nigeria over England and Uganda, respectively.

The 22-year-old is eligible to play for his country of birth, England and Nigeria and Uganda through his parents.

The FC Midtjylland shot-stopper has now picked the Super Eagles, insisting that his decision was based on heritage and personal conviction.

“I am a person that don’t really think too hard on things,” Ejeheri told Flashscore.

“I know my heritage. Yeah, all the three [countries – Nigeria, England, and Uganda] invited me. England was a goalkeeper’s camp like six years ago.

“It was a good camp and I liked it. Uganda as well of course and Nigeria too.

“Nigeria, for sure. I think for me, Nigeria is the team I’ve always wanted to play for.”
