Actress Doris Ogala has publicly disagreed with her colleague, Uche Ogbodo, over the defense of Adanma Luke, the producer involved in a tragic incident on the set of a movie that led to the deaths of actor Junior Pope and other crew members.

Uche Ogbodo had earlier expressed support for Luke, suggesting that the producer was merely a victim of circumstances and highlighting the risks commonly taken in film production. Ogbodo emphasized that Luke, a young woman working hard for her family, should not be blamed for the accident, noting that she too had been at risk without a life jacket during the ill-fated boat journey.

In a pointed response, Doris Ogala challenged Ogbodo’s stance, arguing that ignorance could not be used as a defense. Ogala lamented the loss of lives due to what she described as “shortcuts” in a low-budget film production, which compromised safety. She highlighted the profound impact of the tragedy on the families of the deceased, including Junior Pope’s widow and children.

“Adanma being a nursing mother shouldn’t exempt her from accountability,” Ogala stated. She called for legal action against Luke and the movie’s owner, accusing them of negligence and criticizing efforts to shield them from consequences.

“This negligence is unacceptable,” Ogala added, pointing to the lack of life jackets on the journey as an example of the “carelessness” that led to the fatalities. She urged for a removal of sentiments in addressing the tragedy, pushing for justice for the victims and their grieving families.

She wrote: “Uche Ogbodo you are my sister and I love you so much. But ignorance is not an excuse. We lost the lives of our members because of Adanma Luke shortcut to archive a movie with low budget by so doing endangering the lives of these innocent people. Let’s remove sentiments and emotions here. Junior Pope left behind his wife and children. The other crew members have families.

So are u saying we should ignore this negligence from Adanma Luke because she’s a nursing mother? No, my girl. Adanma Luke and the owner of that movie should face the law. @emekarollas should stop shielding them

@ucheogbodo my sister’s ignorance is not an excuse. Adamma Luke and the owner of that movie contributed immensely to this tragedy. Let’s remove sentiments and emotions here. Let them face the consequences of their actions which took the lives of our members.. ahhhhhh how could they embark on such a journey without a life jacket? This is totally unacceptable. What kind of stupīd carelessness is that”
