Kogi State Chairman of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Kingsley Oga, and some members of the party across the three senatorial districts have dumped the party’s governorship candidate, Leke Abejide, for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman.
Addressing members of the party during the decamping ceremony, last Friday, he said though he was still the state chairman of the ADC, they have decided to abandon the ADC candidate and work for the APC candidate.
“Among all the governorship candidates for the November 11 election, the candidate of the APC is the best person to elect as the next governor of the state.
“Before now, we set up a five-man committee to assess all the candidates contesting and at the end, the committee’s report said Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is the right candidate to vote for in the coming election,” he said.
He said that with the developmental efforts of the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the state needs somebody that would continue from where he would stop, noting that that is the reason they decided to support Ododo in the coming election.
The ADC chairman commended Bello for his tremendous achievements across the state in the last seven and a half years of his administration.
He also pointed out that Ododo would definitely perform well when he becomes the next governor of the state from what they have seen and heard about the APC governorship candidate.
Also, Idowu Ibikunlen, representing Yagba West State Constituency at the Kogi State House Assembly, said that he contested as ADC candidate and he won his election.
He stated that despite that, he and his supporters have all decided to vote for the candidate of APC in the coming governorship election.
He said the state governor is a performing governor.
All the three senatorial chairmen of the ADC also promised to mobilise for APC in the coming election.….CONTINUE.FULL.READING>>>
