The statement reads in part, “We, the concerned citizens and residents of Oro are compelled to bring to the attention of the Kwara State Government and security agents, the alarming rate of kidnappings that have plagued our neighbouring communities.

“In recent weeks, Your Excellency may wish to recall that two people were killed while three others were reportedly kidnapped at Agbeola Oro while about a week later, some residents of Okerimi-Oro were allegedly taken to unknown destination by suspected bandits.

“The frequency and brazen nature of the above incidents in our neighbouring communities have created a climate of fear, disrupting daily life and undermining our sense of security in Oro.

“The recent surge in kidnappings has not only caused emotional trauma for residents and citizens of our community but it has continued to affect economic activities in Oro and neighbouring communities”

Bojuwoye, a Professor of Medicine and former provost of College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, urged the government and security agencies to deploy more personnel to Oro community and its environs to enhance security.

“ln addition, we want to humbly request that security agencies should conduct intelligence-led operations to apprehend the kidnappers and dismantle their networks.

“We will be pleased if the Kwara State government and security agencies take immediate and concrete actions to address this security challenge. “We are willing to collaborate with relevant authorities to provide necessary information or support to ensure the safety and security of our community,” the statement added....READ THE FULL ARTICLE/CONTENT HERE
