Alhaji Sule Lamido, the former two-term governor of Jigawa state, talked about the goings-on between the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in an interview with a THISDAY reporter. He emphasized how important it is to unite Nigerians in the run-up to the general election of 2027 in order to find new leadership.
Addressing assertions that the current state of the PDP is under the influence of the FCT Minister and former governor Nyesom Wike, Sule Lamido expressed his view that although Nyesom Wike possesses significant potential, he lacks proper refinement.
He remarked, “When he said he paid money to the party and bla bla bla, I say do you buy wrapper for your mama ? Before she gave birth to you, was she wearing wrapper ? Before she gave birth to you, was she going naked ?
So before Wike started, was the party naked ? He met a party that was established, which was being financed, so financing your party because you are a governor is not a big deal, and if you do not support your party, who will you support ?”
