May River celebrates 6 signings

At May River High School, six athletes continuing their athletic careers at the next level. Starting with soccer, Ariana Bevan is going to USC Lancaster, Zoe Stevenson is headed to Anderson University and Madison Divert is taking her talents to Columbia College. “For me,” Bevan said, “when I went there it felt like home. I really like the coaches and they are very welcoming. It was just a benefit for me.”

“Just very rewarding today,” Stevenson said. “All the hard work that I’ve put in. I’ve always had the dream of being able to play in college. So today is just like a fulfilled dream.”

“I didn’t actually think I was going to continue my soccer career,” Divert said. “When they offered me my soccer scholarship, I was actually very ecstatic to play.”

“I never just play as a business,” “but it sorta kind of becomes that way, but I just play the game because I love it.”

“I’ve come a long way,” Schroeder said. “I used to be one of the skinner kids on the team, but four years in the weight room, working hard, doing all I can, working with wonderful coaching.”

“The team dynamic was one of my favorites,” Roper said. “The second I stepped on campus I knew that’s where I wanted to go.”
