On Sunday, October 8, 2023, Mikel Arteta achieved a rare feat in the Premier League by becoming one of the few coaches who has recorded at least a victory against each of the teams he has faced in the league. He achieved that after defeating his former master, Pep Guardiola, and Manchester City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on the said date.

Since 2019, Mikel Arteta has faced a total of 24 Premier League games and has recorded at least one victory against them, a feat Pep Guardiola is yet to achieve despite winning five Premier League titles already.

Among all the Premier League clubs Pep Guardiola has faced since 2016, the only EPL club he is yet to beat is Middleborough. Unfortunately, the club has been relegated, and can only fancy a victory over them when they return to the Premier League.
