Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is set to miss the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury.
The 25-year-old did not participate in Napoli’s training session on Monday, May 13th, following an injury sustained in their recent match against Bologna over the weekend.
According to the club’s official website, Osimhen underwent a recovery session for a muscle strain, casting doubt on his availability for Napoli’s last Serie A fixture against Fiorentina this weekend.
Osimhen’s absence adds to the growing list of Super Eagles stars ruled out of the qualifying series this month. Left-back Bruno Onyemaechi has already been sidelined for the remainder of the campaign due to a knee injury.
