She disclosed that the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) regime purposefully destroyed documents outlining his accomplishments during the coup d’état, which resulted in a notable exclusion of his legacy from historical accounts.
Dr. Zilla, who is now married to musician Reggie Rockstone, disclosed that the deliberate erasure by the PNDC government has made it challenging to identify her father’s accomplishments.
She explained, “They erased everything or almost everything, from the bizarre burning of GBC to whatever. So, when we go back to history, it is difficult to find things about Dr. Hilla Limann. If you go back to what we studied in schools, it is always glossed over.”

She announced the establishment of a foundation dedicated to propagating the former president’s feats and contributions to the nation.
She emphasised the foundation’s goal of creating more awareness and ensuring that people learn about Dr. Hilla Limann’s impact on the country’s development.
“Now that the Foundation has been formed, and we are putting things together, that’s one of the things we want to do – to create more awareness. To get people to know more about him, about what he did and the impact he had,” she added.
Dr. Zilla Limann expressed her desire to shed light on her father’s role in shaping the country’s destiny and what he might have achieved if his rule hadn’t been prematurely terminated.
