Police begin disciplinary action against Abuja traffic officer over viral video

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched an investigation and initiated disciplinary proceedings against one of its officers, ASP Attahiru Isah, captured in a viral video.

In the video, Isah was involved in an altercation with a motorist in the Galadima area of Abuja inside the car.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the command had promptly identified and summoned the officer after the video surfaced on social media.

Adeh said, “The FCT Police Command is aware of a viral video currently circulating on social media platforms showing a traffic officer engaged in an altercation with the driver of a vehicle in Galadima area of the Federal Capital Territory.

“Consequently, the Command has promptly identified and summoned the officer, ASP Attahiru Isah, who was depicted in the footage. Administrative and possible disciplinary procedures have commenced.”

She also appealed to the motorist involved in the incident, as well as any other individual with credible information, to come forward and assist the investigation.

Adeh said, “The Command hereby appeals to the individual(s) involved in the incident, particularly the driver featured in the video, to come forward and assist with credible information to aid ongoing investigations. Your cooperation is vital to ensuring a thorough and fair process.

“The FCT Police Command remains committed to upholding professionalism, accountability, and discipline within its ranks.”
