There have been disputes in the nation about the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and several Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) departments moving from Abuja to Lagos.
Jaliu Charanchi, the Coordinator of the Coalition of Northern Groups, expressed the opinions of some, especially the Hausa people, in a recent interview with The Sun. He said that President Tinubu’s actions are motivated by a desire to give preference to his base in the south over the north. According to Aliyu, there is a political expectation that Tinubu will reward rather than penalize his northern followers because the majority of his votes in the presidential election came from that region.
In Charanchi’s words: “The Hausa man is saying Tinubu is doing what he is doing to favor his people and he doesn’t want to favor them. The majority of votes given to Tinubu came from the north, so politically he is supposed to reward them, instead of punishing them”. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
