Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu was with Edun when it was presented to the President at the presidential Villa in Abuja.

Edun in a chat with State House correspondents after the meeting with Tinubu says “there is no cause for alarm.”

This comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, June 4 gave Edun a 48-hour ultimatum to present the cost implication of a new minimum wage.

Other team members at the meeting included the Ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Labour, and Information, as well as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited.

Earlier, a high-ranking source within the labor union told The Punch that negotiations will begin immediately after the estimates are submitted.

Recall that organised labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, had embarked on a nationwide strike on Monday to demand an increased minimum wage for workers and the reversal of the recently increased electricity tariffs.…Continue The Full Reading.>’.
