Troops of the Nigerian military in collaboration with other security operatives including vigilante members have killed a notorious leader of the Lakurawa terrorist sect.
It was gathered that Maigemu was killed during a gun battle with security operatives in Kuncin Baba village in Arewa Local Government of the state on Thursday.
According to Zagazola Makama, the killing of Maigemu happened within a week after the state governor Nasir Idris visited Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities in Arewa Local Government after six people were killed by the terrorists.
The governor during the visit assured residents of a proactive approach to end the menace of terrorism in the state.
