‘We Didn’t Intend To Kill The Woman, The Cars In Her House Was Our Target’ – According to Suspect

The Oyo State police command has taken five armed robbers into custody after they brutally killed Mrs. Olaitan Gbenle, a 69-year-old former Oyo Permanent Secretary, at her Ibadan home. One of the suspects, a 37-year-old Edo State resident named Simon Ojei, has claimed that they were targeting the victim’s automobile rather than killing her.

But he added that things became complicated because the victim realized Bello is their gang leader. He claimed that in order to avoid problems with identification, one of them—known as Bisiriyu—proposed to kill the woman.

He said in an interview with Tribune, ”We were all five that went for the operation. Bello, Bisiriyu, Tope, Aboki, and I. We scaled the fence at almost 10 pm. We also broke the burglary proof on the window at the back of the house and got in. Bello was surprised when we saw the woman inside because he had told us that we would not meet her at home. We didn’t intend to kill the woman, the cars in her house was our target.

But Bello said that since he was known by our victim, things would turn awry. Bisiriyu suggested killing her but I did not agree with them. They went inside and Bisiriyu twisted her neck, leading to her instant death.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
