UCL: Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti reveals team he wants to win trophy after Arsenal eliminate Real Madrid

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed his chat with Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti after his side eliminated the LaLiga side from the Champions League.

The Gunners held a 3-0 advantage from the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

At the Bernabeu, Bukayo Saka missed a penalty, before opening the scoring in the second half.

Vinicius Junior equalized for Madrid on the night. But they failed to build on it and Arsenal grabbed a second through Gabriel Martinelli.

Arteta’s men progressed with a 5-1 aggregate win and will now take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final.

After the game, Ancelotti told Arteta that he is rooting for Arsenal to go all the way and win the trophy.

“Carlo Ancelotti has been very affectionate. He told me that he hopes we win the Champions League and that he is very happy for us,” Arteta told TNT Sports.

The last four teams that have eliminated Real Madrid from the Champions League, have gone on to win it.
