Iyabo Obasanjo Steps Down from Ogun Governorship Race Following Adeola’s APC Emergence

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has suspended her aspiration to contest the Ogun state governorship election in 2027 following the endorsement of Senator Solomon Adeola as the APC consensus candidate.

She said: “I congratulate him and wish him every success. Based on these developments, I have decided to suspend my gubernatorial aspiration.” Governor Dapo Abiodun named Adeola as the party’s preferred candidate to succeed him.
