Olusegun Obasanjo called us, we planned how to go about it but we told him the idea won’t fly — According to Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida

Former Senate Majority Leader and former Ambassador to the United Kingdom Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida has claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo attempted to seek a third term in office but encountered opposition.

Tafida stated in an interview with Daily Trust TV that Obasanjo called a meeting where plans for the quest for a third term were discussed. He claimed that he and other conference participants informed Obasanjo that his attempt to win a third term would fail because the governors behind him had strained relationships with the senators representing their states, making it impossible for them to persuade the senators to back the effort.

In Tafida’s words: “Obasanjo called us, we planned how to go about it but we told him the idea won’t fly. We told him that all the governors making promises to him were not seeing eye to eye with their Senators so they can’t control their senators”. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
