Who will be the presidential candidate? – PDP Chieftain asks after Atiku, Obi meeting

He also believes that Atiku Abubakar of the largest opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will run as well.

Talks of a potential alliance between Obi and his PDP counterpart, Atiku, have gained momentum following their surprise meeting a few weeks ago.

Both men ran for president under different parties in 2019, despite being on the same ticket.

However, Tajudeen does not envision them working together when Nigerians head to the ballot in 2027.

If Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is going to contest, I believe Peter Gregory Obi is going to contest in 2027. Both of them, if the two of them can reach a compromise, fantastic for the opposition. But, I doubt, if such will happen,” he said in Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“Then on which premise, I love the statement made by the spokesperson of the Obi campaign organization here, it clearly stated that this talk between individuals have to be subjected to the individual parties.”

“So, we will now sit down, which of the two parties will be the leading party? Naturally, it should be PDP. But, is Peter Obi ready to take second fiddle in this arrangement? And will Peter Obi, still with his base with him, what if he insists on being a Presidential candidate? These are the things you have to look into”
