A British man who survived the Air India plane crash has been filmed walking away from the horrific scene just moments after the Boeing plummeted to the ground. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, who has lived in London for 20 years, revealed exactly what happened. He told outlet: “Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly.” Mr Ramesh was in India for a few days to visit family. He has reportedly suffered “impact injuries” on his chest, eyes and feet. “When I got up, there were bodies all around me,” he added. “I was scared. I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me. Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital.”.

The survivor has lived in London for 20 years.

Vishwash was travelling with his brother.

The survivor was travelling back to the UK with his brother, Ajay Kumar Ramesh, 45, who was also on the flight.

“We visited Diu. He was travelling with me and I can’t find him anymore. Please help me find him,” Mr Ramesh said.

Just after taking off in Ahmedabad on Thursday, flight 171 exploded in a fire ball after crashing to the ground. Local authorities said the 242 people onboard, including 53 British nationals, were en route to Gatwick airport – 11 children were reportedly onboard.

The airline’s chairman, Natarajan Chandrasekaran said: “With profound sorrow, I confirm that Air India Flight 171 operating from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick was involved in a tragic accident today.
