Political Realignment: Iyabo Obasanjo Officially Joins APC in Ogun State

Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has reportedly registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State. The claim was made by former Abeokuta South Local Government Chairman Biodun Ajayi, who stated she completed online registration in Ibogun Ward 11.

A former House of Representatives member also confirmed the move. Obasanjo previously served as Ogun State Commissioner for Health and Senator for Ogun Central. Her return to Nigeria’s political space follows the appearance of campaign billboards in Abeokuta last year, fueling speculation about her potential run in the 2027 elections.
