Don’t waste your time contesting against Tinubu, APC chieftain tells Gov Makinde

Jude Idimogu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, has advised Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, against yielding to calls to contest against President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Idimogu, a former lawmaker and deputy leader of Ndigbo in Lagos APC, gave the advice during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

He said any attempt by Makinde to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election would be “a waste of time and resources”.

His words: “The truth is that Gov. Seyi Makinde cannot wrestle power from President Bola Tinubu. Tinubu will win again and nothing will stop him by His grace.

“We must reiterate that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria again in landslide.”

Idimogu described Tinubu as “a game changer, a strategic planner and a master” in the Nigerian political landscape.

He, however, acknowledged Makinde’s friendship with the president and expressed doubt that the governor would consider running against him.

He said the governor still had the constitutional right to pursue any elective office, including the presidency.

Speaking on the growing alliance among opposition parties, Idimogu said no coalition would be able to unseat Tinubu in the next election.
