Police Arrest Six, Recover 400 Laptops in N7.7 Billion Telecom Airtime Hack

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspects for allegedly hacking into a telecommunications company and diverting airtime and data worth N7.7 billion. According to Force spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects gained unauthorized access to the company’s core systems using compromised internal credentials.

During operations in Kano, Katsina, and the Federal Capital Territory, police recovered over 400 laptops, 1,000 mobile phones, two mini plazas, and a Toyota vehicle. A substantial sum was also traced to the suspects’ bank accounts. They will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
