At least two residents are feared dead in a tanker explosion that rocked the city of Ibadan, Oyo State.
An eyewitness said the tanker heavily laden with fuel exploded at about 5 an on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
The incident, the resident said occurred around the Gabster Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, in the Oluyole Local Government Area.
It was also gathered that the victims, a driver and his assistant, were trapped in the explosion.
They were also said to have been burnt beyond recognition from the incident.
Speaking on the incident, the Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde and Chairman of the State Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande said they received an emergency call at about 5.15 am.
He said, “The situation is now under control.”
