Former Senate President Saraki, Anyanwu Meet in Abuja [PHOTO]

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki hosted Senator Samuel Anyanwu at his Abuja residence on Monday. Anyanwu, the former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), visited Saraki, who led the Senate from 2015 to 2019.

Saraki shared details of the meeting in a post on social media platform X on Tuesday morning.

“It’s just a few months shy of 10 years since our inauguration in 2015—yet our camaraderie remains strong. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hosting my distinguished colleagues from the 8th Senate for Iftar at my home in Abuja. It’s always a joy to reunite, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company. I appreciate them all for honouring my invitation,” Saraki wrote.

The development comes amid an ongoing leadership dispute within the PDP.

The party’s National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees (BoT), and governors have recognized Sunday Ude-Okoye as the legitimate National Secretary, rejecting Anyanwu’s claim to the position after an Appeal Court ruling.

Following the court’s decision, Ude-Okoye officially resumed office, while Anyanwu’s plea for a stay of execution was denied by the Supreme Court.

However, the Apex Court is still expected to rule on the main case in the coming weeks.
